A Cold In The Summertime

Getting a cold in the summertime, probably isn't that uncommon. But I usually associate colds with the winter time. Right now I have a head cold, and it's more annoying then anything. I'm weak, sneezing, coughing, and my nose likes to stuff and un stuff when it wants too, FUN!

This is not how I want to spend my weekend.

Influenster Mom Vox Box

I just received the Influenster Mom Vox Box in the mail. I'll admit I was excited about this, mainly for the cookie! Lol but I'm excited to try the other things too. This is what I received

Stash Superfruits Tea Sampler - I'm not a big tea drinker but I'll try these.

Impress Press On Manicure - I haven't had good experiences with these before.

Nektar Honey Crystals - I assume this is for the tea?

Ivory Bar Soap - Tried this many times, nothing too special does what a soap is supposed to do

DenTek Flossers - These will be great for on the go.

Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookie - Yeah this about to be eaten!

Makeup Monday...a day late

Sorry for being a day late for Makeup Monday! But when kids are out of school you tend to forget what day it is. Anyways. Here is what I'm loving always, the Urban Decay Naked Palette. It's a little pricey at $50 but so worth it because the quality is excellent.

Influenster Freebies!

I'm part of a program called Influenster. You earn badges and you get boxes sent to you based on your badges, for free! Once you get the products you review them with either a blog post, or a video. Once you submit them the companies review the reviews and pick which one they like the best. Well they liked what I had to say about their Palmolive Fresh Sponge Dish Soap, so I got these products for free (without having to review them) Can't wait to try these products to see if I actually want to buy backups of them.

Disneyland Here We Come!

Saturday we are taking the girls to Disneyland. My excitement is more then I can handle. The last time we went my oldest was a year old now she's almost 10 so we are way overdue!

The best part about it? The girls have no clue! So when we walk up to that hate the look in their faces will be process, I can't wait to see them.

Besides the excitement of going, I'm really wanting to see what has changed, and what's stayed the same. I also want to tell my girls what I used to do when I was little and share those moments with them. So can hopefully pass on to their kids someday.

DIY Colored Jeans

I was reading my daily beauty blogs and came across this blog post

DIY Colored Skinny Jeans http://www.lizmarieblog.com/2012/06/diy-colored-skinny-jeans/

I squealed with happiness! How cute are her DIY jeans? I already had a pit of blue skinny jeans I got from Platos Closet, that I paid about $5 for. As much as I loved the fit, I didn't care for the color so I decided to use these as an experiment.

I followed her instructions and their turned out pretty good. I love this idea for turning old clothes into brand new clothes or even thrusting and making the color you want. Great way to save money! So here is what you need

1. A large bucket
2. Bleach (if your clothing is already white skip this)
3. RIT dye

Here are the instructions

1. In a large bucket (5 gallons preferably) put 3 gallons of water.
2. 3 cups of bleach (1 cup of bleache for every gallon of water)
3. Put jeans in bucket and stir to make sure the beach spreads around.
4. Let sit for as long as you need.

I let mine sit overnight and still had a couple of blue spots. This didn't bother me because I love the look overall. Here is what you do after the bleaching

1. Put your pants in the washing machine
2. Turn on water to the hot setting
3. Pour dye into washer, let it run like you would normally would.
4. Wash again. This will get all the extra due off.
5. Dry and that's it!

Make sure you follow the instructions on the bottle and wash the washing machine with bleach and detergent!!

Summertime in Full Effect

Summer is in full effect, kids everywhere, the tripple degree weather, and the spray parks are open! I don't know about where you live, but we used to have city pools at every park, but because of funding and safety they have closed them up and put up pretty cute sprays for all the kids (and some adults I saw) to run through. This picture was taken first time I've taken my girls, and they had a ball, they didn't to leave. I'm glad because it gets us out of the house, tires them out (HELLO NAP TIME!) Best part of it all? It's free! So we can always go home and come back since the hours are pretty flexible.

Today we're going back, may even go again tomorrow. I'm just glad they're getting out, otherwise they'd drive me crazy

Makeup Monday

Every Monday in going to post a makeup product I'm loving. This week is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balms. Love them very moisturizing, pigmented, and affordable.

Things I Like But Can't Afford

In "things I like but can't afford news" this post is dedicated to designer bags. Don't we all wish we had millions of dollars laying around? Hell I wish I do! Even if I did I still don't think that I'd drop that much on a purse, but they're still pretty to look at. The Michael Kors bag isn't too bad but give me a designer inspired bag of any of these (I already have 3 of them) and I'll be good. Here are 6 bags that I love looking at

Hermes Birkin Bag - Start at $5,300
Balenciaga City Bag - Start at $1,895
Celine Luggage Tote - Start at $1750
Celine Trapeze Bag - Start at $1800
Miu Miu Bag - Start at $1,551
Michael Kors Bag - Starts at $398

Guacamole Recipe

I just recently started making guacamole that was actually eatable lol. Once you make a good guacamole, you'll never buy that nasty pre made store crap again. Actually once you learn to make anything it will taste better then pre made store crap, but anyway. I love guacamole, and my husband loves it even more. We love it as a snack, on tacos, in a salad, basically you can have it on anything, and make your food taste better. Enough rambling let me tell you how I make it. It's very easy, I'm all about easy recipes because I don't want to be in the kitchen for hours. There's so many ways to make it your own so you can use my recipe, take stuff away, add to it, whatever floats your boat. Here's what you'll need.

4 avocados
1 lime (2 if they're really small)
1/2 red onion
1 garlic
1 Roma tomato
Cilantro (add as little or as many leaves as you want)
Ground pepper and salt

1. Mash avocados in a bowl, but leave a little chunky
2. Add lime juice
3. Add everything else and mix together.
4. Refrigerate for 30 mins to an hours. Make sure you eat right away so it doesn't turn brown

And that's it! Nothing to it. You can even add some bacon to mix things up a little.

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to my husband and the father of our two girls. You are amazing, and we love you very much!
