Stir Fry Medley Recipe

I live for easy, simple recipes that are actually good. Don't get me wrong I love making a good meal, but sometimes I just want to be in the kitchen for a few minutes and still get a good meal. So that's where this stir fry medley comes in.

I was at Walmart doing some grocery shopping yesterday and saw this bag for only $2.50. Sure I could just buy fresh veggies and make a lot more, but I was kind of experimenting with this because *gasp* I've never made this before!

The think about this whole recipe is that you can make it your own. You can eat this cold, hot, and add whatever you want to it. Nothing is off limits here! I used 3 simple things here
  • Stir fry medley
  • Soy sauce (optional)
  • Water
That's it! read more to see what I did.

Your two main ingredients.

Directions. You can microwave this also, but every time tastes better on a stove.

Nutrition. Only 30 calories a serving! The whole bag is only 120 calories, not bad at all

I added a little water and vegetable oil, the oil is optional you can just use water

Don't have a steamer? I don't either you can do this if you have a lid with holes on the side (mainly used for draining pasta) just let this set for 3-4 minutes or longer if you like your veggies soft like me.

When its just about done splash a little soy sauce on there for flavor

Now you can eat! Simple right? Now you can add chicken to this, even rice if you want. This is just a quick way to get some good healthy lunch. Hope you enjoyed!

Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite

(image via bodybuilding.com)

If you have been following me on my blog, instagram, Facebook since the beginning of this journey, then you will know I took some weight loss pills called Oxy Elite Pro. I really liked the pills. they helped jump start my weight loss and gave me lots of energy. Once the pills were gone I continued to work out and eat right, still losing weight.

I hit a plateau last week and while I could work through it, like I did the last time. I decided to try some more pills. I wanted the OEP's again but the Vitamin Shoppe was out of them. My husband did some research and found out Hydroxy Hardcore Elite is just as good, if not better.

He brought them home yesterday at 12 something, and I took 1 (which is what the directions say) this pill stayed in my system until I went to sleep. The OEP's didn't have that that long lasting feeling like these, I was surprised. I had lots of energy and ate smaller portions (still 1200+ calories) I loved the feeling. But with these pills come warnings and I advise anyone who takes ANY kind of pills, not just these to RESEARCH and consult your physician even. Also please do not take these because I am taking them, everything is not for everyone. I just like to share my experiences with everyone. So there is lots of information for these pills and here it is

Top Healthy Eating & Food iPhone Apps

I have an iPhone (and an iPad) and decided to look up the top healthy eating and food apps, and here they are!

(via fitnessmagaizne.com)

Grocery Gadget Shopping List

dried red pepper
Why it’s cool: Say you write you wrote a grocery list, but left it at home in your rush on the way to work. Or perhaps your husband is already out, but doesn’t know which ingredients you’re lacking to make dinner. With this app, both these scenarios are solved.
Grocery Gadget Shopping List allows you to write a list on the web browser and automatically sync up with your iPhone, so there’s less chance of accidentally leaving your list on the coffee table. Similarly, if you add a list on your iPhone, it automatically shows up on your husband’s iPhone, too (provided he also has the app). Bonus: this is one more way he can never "forget" to pick up tampons for you at the store.
Price: $2.99
Compatible with: iPhone, iPod Touch

VegOut

nutmeg
Why it’s cool: Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian or are simply seeking a veggie-friendly restaurant, VegOut will find a suitable eatery in your desired location, sorted by distance. Plus, since the app is powered by HappyCow.net, each restaurant already has consumer-reviewed star-ratings, so you can tell whether the place’s food was a hit with fellow diners.
Price: $2.99
Compatible with: iPhone, iPod Touch

Locavore

cumin
Why it’s cool: Raspberries, mangoes and kale, oh my! To find out what produce is in season, take to this iPhone app. Locavore automatically detects the state you’re in and lists the foods that are at their peak freshness.
In case you’re suddenly jonesing for a perfect summer peach, the app also maps out the nearest farmer’s markets according to your location. Unfortunately, there’s no telling whether these markets will actually have your desired seasonal pick available. Still, it’s a step in the right direction.
Price: $2.99
Compatible with: iPhone, iPod Touch

Nutrition Menu – Calorie Counter

turmeric
Why it’s cool: This is the mother of all iPhone calorie counters. With over 78,000 foods to choose from (including popular restaurant picks), you’ll know exactly how many calories (not to mention fat, carbs, protein, cholesterol, sodium, sugar and fiber) you’re eating, which makes it easy to keep track of your food intake, even if you’re following specific dietary plans like Weight Watchers or low-carb.
Price: $2.99
Compatible with: iPhone, iPod Touch

Good Food Near You

cinnamon
Why it’s cool: On-the-go with only fast food joints nearby? Greasy, mass-produced food isn’t your only option anymore. Type your location into this app and it’ll list healthy choices from nearby eateries. Whether you’re traveling or just nursing an unexpected hunger pang while out and about, Good Food Near You helps you make an informed decision before grabbing the nearest burger.
Price: Free
Compatible with: iPhone, iPod Touch

Food Additives

ginger
Why it’s cool: If you’ve ever perused an ingredient list on a particular packaged food and wondered what acetic acid, ethyl maltol, or sodium nitrate really is, this app is for you. This program lists over 450 (yes, 450) additives, which you can sort by name, number, diet type, and more.
Moreover, once you determine what Ingredient X actually is, the app informs you of potential side effects, maximum daily intake, and dietary restrictions. So hardcore vegetarians, for instance, can rejoice -- now they’ll know if an ingredient is animal-based. Then again, not everybody will be happy to know exactly what that their favorite cookie or ice cream indulgence contains...
Price: $3.99
Compatible with: iPhone, iPod Touch

Seafood Guide

sage
Why it’s cool: Before you settle on the grouper at the grocery store or the yellow fin tuna at your favorite sushi joint, check the Seafood Guide to see if your choices are sustainable. Sure, the sea bass may be tasty, but with certain species being overfished and in danger of extinction, playing it smart with this Monteray Bay Aquarium app makes you a more responsible eater.
Price: Free
Compatible with: iPhone, iPod Touch

WaterWorks

peppermint
Why it’s cool: If you have trouble drinking enough water everyday, you may find a little more impetus with this app. Plug in your desired daily intake amount, and as you log your water intake throughout the day, an onscreen water jug graphic fills up, giving you visual motivation to reach your goal.
You can also customize preset container amounts, so no more excuses. Logging your regular morning mug of tea or your designated gym Nalgene bottle can be done with just one click.
Price: $1.99
Compatible with: iPhone, iPod Touch

Weight Loss Plateaus and Getting Through Them

If you've worked out for a while, you might come across a weight loss plateau. It's very common, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating. I wanted to do a post dedicated to weight loss plateau, because I am at my second once since starting to work out

This is from MayoClinic.com

Getting past a weight-loss plateau

Just because your weight loss has stalled, don't revert back to your old bad habits. These tips can help you restart your weight-loss plan.

By Mayo Clinic staff
You've worked hard to improve your diet and exercise habits, and you've been rewarded by seeing the number on the scale continue to drop. But then for no reason you can identify, the scale doesn't budge — even though you're still eating a healthy, low-calorie diet and exercising regularly. You've hit a weight-loss plateau.
Before you get too discouraged, you should know that it's normal for weight loss to slow and even stall. By understanding what causes a weight-loss plateau, you can decide how to respond and avoid backsliding on your healthy-eating and exercise habits.

What is a weight-loss plateau?

A weight-loss plateau occurs when you no longer lose weight despite continuing with your exercise and healthy-eating habits. Being stuck at a weight-loss plateau eventually happens to everyone who is trying to lose weight.
Although hitting a plateau is common, most people are surprised when it happens to them, for they believed that if they just maintained a reduced-calorie diet, they would continue to lose weight. The frustrating reality is that even well-planned weight-loss efforts often become stalled.

Hot Green Tea Benefits

(picture was taken by me)

Recently I have become addicted to drinking Hot Green Tea. I love the taste, and the fact that it has ZERO calories means I can drink this stuff all day, everyday and be a happy camper. I drink it hot because

  1. I don't like iced tea
  2. Its getting colder and this warms me up
  3. It has helped me with this vicious cold I've been having
But besides good taste, did you know there are health benefits to drinking hot green tea? This is from livestrong.com

Drinking hot green tea is popular worldwide, especially throughout Asia. Green tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis bush, which contains high amounts of antioxidants called flavonoids and polyphenols. Scientific evidence based on epidemiological studies of populations has indicated that drinking green tea may lower your risk of chronic diseases. Consult your doctor or nutritionist about your health and the benefits of including hot green tea in your daily diet.

The Clear Skin Diet

I don't know anyone with perfect skin. I have acne scarring from my teenage years and never really tried to fix it. I don't think it's too late to try and look your best. These foods can help you get clearer skin. But as always if you're needing more see a dermatologist to get medical advice. Image via deactivatedfatgirl.com

Operation Weight Loss Week 13

Here we are with another week of Operation Weight Loss! Last week I didn't weigh in because I was on my period, I never weigh on those days. So I had to wait a couple of days. So here is a video of this past week. Here are some bullet points from the video

  • Weight Loss
  • Insanity
  • Ninja Blender
  • Clothes Shopping
  • Less Makeup
  • Cheat Meals
  • Bloat

Last time I weighed in at 129, Now I am 130. I am not mad about this pound since I just got off my period. We will see where I am come this friday. Despite the scale I look and feel great! I bought sizes in clothing that I haven't seen in over a year. I bought a swear suit in a small! I haven't worn a small in sweats since after I had my daughter 4 years ago! So yeah the scale can kiss my ass LMAO

I love working out, I love this journey, and I can't see myself going back to where I was. I've worked to hard to get this point, and it can only get better!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is a very important month for me and for my family.

Remember to check yourself, and/or go to your dr and get checked. You can never be too careful! As a person who had a very serious breast cancer scare 2 years ago I am always checking to make sure I am good to go.

If breast cancer runs in your family ask your dr for a mammogram. Be safe, be healthy, be happy!

Operation Weight Loss Week 12

The weeks seem to fly by! I'm already on 12 weeks of working out and 2 weeks of Insanity are done! Insanity is still kicking every part of my ass, and I'm loving it. I look forward to it, because the results are worth feeling like you're going to die. The second week did get easier then the first because my muscles are used to doing some of the same exercises, but the tiredness is still there. Nonetheless I've been working hard through all of it.

If you follow me on instagram, after every workout I post how many calories I've burned. It's a lot of calories, but it takes a lot to burn them. I am proud of every calorie I burn because it means I worked hard. The more calories the better!

This week as far as food goes has been the same. I stated in my last blog post that I got a Ninja Blender. Still working flawlessly the second day. My smoothie is damn near perfection and I couldn't ask for anything better. I plan on shredding some chicken in that thing later on this coming week, and I'll film a video for that.

So how many pounds did I lose? Last week when I weighed in I weighed in at 133.4 this week I am 129.2!!!!! All I wanted was half a pound! and I got 4. I was in a plateau and broke through that thing with a vengeance. Im not mad though, I'm proud of my hard work. Here's a video of me talking about it. Filmed yesterday

Ninja Professional Blender - First Impression

Over the past few years, Ive gone through about 4 blenders. My first one was a GE and that lasted a long time, cause I hardly used it. Well when I started making smoothies everyday. The motor went out on it (it started smoking!) so I went and got a single serve one. That lasted about a week. I used my food processor for a while, then got a Hamilton Beach Wave system. Well it took about 30 minutes to blend a smoothie (AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT!)

I took it back and got an Oster one for a little bit more money. At first I liked it it, then when I would use it, I would have to stop it, push the fruit to the bottom, watch it go, then do it again. This was so damn annoying. Well I finally decided to break down, spend more money for a good quality blender.

I looked at the Blendtec and Vitamix, and unless those blenders plan  on doing my shopping plus blending then Im not shelling out that kind of money. I read about the Ninja Blender and read a lot of good reviews on it. The price is $99 not bad considering the other higher options.

I saw it in stores and really like how it looked. Very sleek, modern, and looks very expensive. Here is how its different from any other blender.
  • 1000 watts (its powerful)
  • It not only has blades on the bottom but in the middle, and at the top (this makes blending, chopping, juicing, easier)
  • The container is huge (72oz, and 9 cups) shouldn't be a problem mixing everything you need.
  • The lid locks, and has a spout! This blender will not operate without being locked. Which is a good thing. I also love the spout because now you can pour things without spilling stuff everywhere. This is more for liquid though. My smoothie is too thick to pour.
  • Easy to clean. The blade is removeable, so now you wont cut yourself cleaning the container
Now my first impression of the blender
  • It takes a little long to blend, but I don't have to push anything to the bottom. I let it do its thing and it blended nicely
  • My smoothie was so smooth!! not one piece of chunk anywhere.
  • Cleaned with no effort. I washed it and looks just like new
  • Its a little loud, but not over the top loud
  • Its very tall! it still fits on my counter nicely and doesnt interfere with the top cabinets.
  • I love how it has to have the lid locked before blending
My first impression is a good one. The best part about this is that you can make so much stuff in here. I can even shred chicken, make guacamole, and salsa!!! I cant wait to try all of this and more. With that said the price doesnt seem to be that bad. I will do a final review one I try more things on it.

Do any of you have any Ninja Products?

Fasting: and its benefits

I was on Instagram (like I always am) and someone, I can't remember who posted a picture about fasting and the benefits. I'm not new to the concept of fasting. I know a lot of different people do it, for different reasons. I just never thought enough of it to actually do it until recently.

My husband usually fasts once a week anywhere from 24-48 hours. He does it to lose water weight or to give his body a rest. I read that fasting is good for the digestive system, and gives you more energy. These were my main two reasons for fasting.

We're in a culture where food is everywhere and we think we need food all the time. Sometimes our intestines work overtime and, sometimes it just needs a break. So fasting can be great for your body and digestive system. If you do it right that is.

I wanted to give my body a rest because this past Sunday I had some pizza, and wanted my body to recover from all the calories. So Monday evening at 5pm I decided to fast until Tuesday 5pm, so 24 hours. My plan was to not eat anything but drink of a lot of liquid since my body was going to be without food for a long period of time.

I drank water and low calorie juices, and felt pretty good. I started getting hunger pangs around 3pm Tuesday. But made it all the way until 5 pm. I was pretty proud of myself for actually sticking through until the 24 hour mark. I don't know how often I will do this, I want to say once a week but I can't commit to that, right now. Well I can but I might not want to do it next week.

One important thing to remember if you do decide to fast is make sure you are very hydrated. Drink lots of liquids, water fills me up pretty good and you can never have too much water!

With all that said here are the benefits of fasting along with what I said. Have any of you fasted before?

Healthy Easy Snack or Meal Recipe

I came across a picture on fitsugar.com and it showed some ham with egg in it, baked inside of a muffin tin. I thought "what a great idea for a snack!" so I picked up a muffin tin (Im probably the only person who did not own a muffin tin before today) and decided to give it a try. Here is what I used but you can easily use any meat you want, and any condiment.
  • Turkey (great value brand is only 20 calories a slice)
  • Egg Beaters (this is a great alternative to eggs, but you can use eggs in a shell)
  • Salsa (I had some salsa in a can and used that, but you can use any kind of salsa you want or none)
Directions
  • Coat muffin pan with a non stick spray
  • Fold turkey in half place in muffin tin
  • Put one serving of egg beaters (3 table spoons) or one egg into the turkey
  • Then put one table spoon of salsa into the egg beaters
  • Put in the oven at 400 degrees let cook for 10-15 minutes, maybe longer depending on how well cooked you want your meat
Thats it! You can eat these right out of the oven (be careful!) or put them in the fridge for a cold snack. I had them hot and cold and they are good either way. I had 2 and they are pretty filling and the best part of all is that each one is only about 60 calories!

You can add spinach or any other veggie. you can also leave out the salsa, or ad a milder one. This is a recipe where you cant really go wrong! these could also work as party favors, or get your kids to help you make up their own concoctions, they'll love it!

I hope you enjoyed this healthy easy recipe. Hopefully I'll have more in the future.

Operation Weight Loss Week 8 and 10

So sorry I haven't updated lately! if you follow me on Youtube then you will know the results of these videos, if not here they are.

This week I started Insanity, and it is insane!!! But I have to stop because my rotator cuff is damaged (more on that in week 10 video) I do love the exhausted feeling, because that means I am getting results. But dammit I can't do it right now. I do have a dr's appointment on the 15th and until then Im taking it easy (still working out just not insanity) Hopefully it's nothing to drastic, and I'll be back to normal soon.

My food intake is the same, but I've been bad on my water intake...I'll fix that soon. Besides that I've been watching my calories and doing good. I have upped my food intake though, eating more throughout the day to keep my metabolism high, and it's working. Now how much have I lost.

Well in week 8 I weighed in at 132.4. Today I am 131.2!!! so a pound and 2 ounces, not too shabby!

Im slowly getting there, its just gonna take time. As soon as my shoulder is taken care of, I'll go hard as usual.

Finding My Calling

After being on this whole journey to live better, eat better, be better. I have finally found out at almost 30 what I want to do with my life. I want to Inspire and Motivate people to eat better. I've had people tell me recently that I've inspired them to want to eat better. To me, that is such a compliment that I want to do more.

After I reach my goal, and maintain my weight. My next chapter will be helping people make better food choices without feeling like they're giving up everything they love. Not only do I want to help them eat better, I want to help them find workouts that work for them. Then after they reach their desired goals, do check ins with them. Whether it be once a month or once a week. I think why people fail "diets" so much is because they lose the weight and its "now what?" What I want people to understand is that you can lose that 10lbs and keep it off! as long as you watch what you eat.

So while I am working on me, I will be researching different diet's and why diets fail. I will also research juicing, in case someone wants to go that route. I want to gather as much information possible to help whoever wants to be helped.

I've never been this passionate about something that I want to do. I am determined to get at least one person to a better self. Whatever it takes

Operation Weight Loss Week 7

This is a day late, sorry. If you follow me on Youtube or Instagram then you already know the results. Still I'm going to post pictures of my progress and tell you about my week.

Week 7 was a very good week. I worked hard, and continued to watch I ate. Last night and last Friday I had pizza, but I was back on track and worked out. Thats what I really want people to know. You don't have to give up all of your favorite foods, have them in moderation, a little at a time, and you will be fine.

The pizza didn't affect my calorie intake too much. I only had 2 slices each time and limited myself to that. I made the choice to only have those 2 and eat/snack light the rest of the day. If you plan out your meals throughout the day, you can control how you eat.

This week I got on a kick of Corn Flakes with a couple of packs of splenda, talk about addicting! 1 cup plus 0% milk is only 240 calories, not bad. I also bought a pack of the Special K Bars Chocolatey Drizzle Bars. Theyre 90 Calories a bar and taste like Rice Crispies treats, very good. Another thing that is great and very low is fresh strawberries. A cup sliced is only 50 calories. Not bad for a scack, and filling (for me anyway)

So this week food wise has been pretty good. I've been pretty good at staying under my calories which is the important thing. Now onto pics and what I've lost

When You're Doing Good, People Want You To Do Bad.

I was on instagram this morning and came across a girl named lauramustloseweight.com she posted a picture about holding yourself accountable for losing weight, which I agree with. I read the comments and someone mentioned that ever since she started this journey she talks down to people and thinks she's better then everyone, has an attitude and comes off cocky.

Now I haven't seen that from her, not that I can remember anyway. But here's the thing. When you decide to live better, eat better, workout, change your entire life around, people will notice and HATE you for it. Your attitude will of course change because you look at food differently. The things you used to love look like garbage now, and sitting on a couch all day is no longer acceptable.

Most times when anyone gets offended by what you say, it's because the feel some type of way. I'm not going to assume what said person looks like, but to me they hate the fact that Laura looks amazing, eats great, and has come a long way in 3 years. When it was mentioned that she was cocky. I'm thinking "when you work this hard to look this way you deserve every right to feel good about yourself" because believe when I reach my goal no one will be able to tell me shit! I don't care who gets mad.

I work hard 7 days a week, watch what I eat constantly so excuse me for having a different attitude then I had 3 months ago.

As long as you're happy, and continue to do what you've been doing, no wine, no matter what they say will be able to bring you down.

Operation Weight Loss Week 6

*Im doing this today instead of tomorrow because i'm taking the next 2 days off from working out*

*I also wanted to include a post I did on tumblr about my body image issues. This post tells why I get down on myself the way I do. Im trying to work on myself mentally as well as physically. I'll get there*

As you know last week I didn't do a weigh in cause I was on my period. But I did weigh in at 138.6. It was combination of bloat, lots of salt, not enough water. Well I took care of the salt and water problem right away and now I'm back to normal. I'm not going to go by the 138.6 because thats not a fair assessment. Instead I will just go by my last weigh in.

The last 2 weeks my weight has gone up and down and stressed me out! but now that I know exactly what it was I'm trying to fix it. I've limited my salt intake. I was eating a lot of it, because I love it on my eggs. But too much salt isn't good and was making me retain water. I've also started drinking more water. Besides my smoothes the only thing I'm really drinking is water. I'm not a water drinker, by any means so this is taking some getting used to.

Also one thing I noticed was my scale. We have 2, a digital, and analog. I used to use only the digital scale. But if you lean a little to the right or left it will completely throw your weight off. If you step on, step off, step right back on you will weigh different. So I'm not using it anymore. The analog scale is always correct and I will be sticking to that from now on.

Speaking of scales. I've been stepping on before I work out and after. The reason I do this is to see how many ounces I lose. An ounce is 200 calories. I count my calories, so knowing how many calories I burn gives me an idea of what I can and can't eat. So YES I step on the scale every time I work out, and will continue to do so. People have told me not to, but this is how I do my workout and it has been working for me, and I'm not going to change it.

Now onto my workout. I've changed it again, but my husband told me to stick with one for a good month to see if it works or not, he's right. So I will be sticking with this workout for a month, if it still works I will still do it, if not I'll move on. heres what Im doing and pics of my progress

Twenty Nine

Today is my birthday and it feels like another day. Remember when you were a kid and you were excited about your birthday? You waited for gifts, cake and ice cream? Long gone are those days. If this were a year ago I would be indulging in cake, chocolate on chocolate to be exact. But I'm in a different place, a better place then I was a year ago.

This year I'm keeping a low profile, will be at home with my husband and kids, glad to be with them another year. Because when it comes down to it, that's all that matters.

A couple of weeks ago when I realized by birthday was coming up, I asked myself how I wanted year twenty nine to be. Twenty eight wasn't a very good year. It was a bag of mixed emotions, anger, sadness, cries, some happiness, but that was over shadowed by everything else. Im determined to have a better year, twenty nine will be my year if nothing else.

I'm already on a path to a better me, I'm working out, I'm eating better, I have cut people out, who want to judge me for petty things. Twenty nine will be the year of no bullshit, no matter what I have to do I will have no bullshit in my life. That goes for people, things, food ect.

Today is the start of the rest of my life, a better life, a better me.

Redondo Beach

Yesterday we all went to Redondo Beach. It was a gift for my upcoming birthday (September 4th) and we just wanted to get out of the house for a day. Redondo is so pretty! The water is very blue and the scenery is gorgeous. We'll definitely have to go back

Bathroom Remodel

I feel like our house is always under construction. The first room we did a few years ago was the kitchen, now it was time for the bathroom. We wanted new flooring, vanity, and paint. So after debating about what we wanted we finally decided on dark flooring and a white vanity. We pained the two opposite walls the color of the floor, and left the other two the same color. The flooring has colors of the already tan wall, and looks nice against the floor. We got all of our supplies from Home Depot. I'll list everything after the pictures

This remodel took 2 weeks. The floor was done one week, and paint was done the following week. We still need a shower curtain a window curtain, and the baseboard needs to be put back down. But the hard part is over

Operation Weight Loss Week 5

No weigh in, no pictures this week. My body is seriously out of whack because I'm on my period. Maybe TMI but hey it is what it is. In other news. I stopped taking the Oxy Elite Pro Pills on Sunday. When I stopped taking them I had a migraine for 2 full days. What you should know about these pills, is that they have a ton of caffeine in them. So when I stopped taking them my body went through withdrawals. I took a migraine pill and it went away in 30 minutes, and I was back to my regular workouts.

My food intake didn't change without the pills. No cravings, and my portions stayed the same, which is a good thing. My body is now used to eating a certain amount, and now I can just keep up the hard work and get results the old fashion way.

Even though this wasn't a great week, weight wise, I feel great. Clothes are fitting better, i'm liking what I see in the mirror. But I still need to get to LOVING what I see in the mirror. Im getting there, slowly but surely. I'm taking today and tomorrow off and will get back to working out on Sunday-Thursday. Speaking of working out. I have mixed my workout with the kettle bell and it's a intense work out, so I will do that all next week and see how my week goes. So until next time.

Besides makeup I love a good, cute, affordable purse! That's where ShopSueyBoutique comes in. I came across ShopSueyBoutique years ago looking for a designer inspired bag, and have been coming back ever since. I love their site because

  1. You can get nice, quality bags for affordable prices
  2. Customer service is always helpful
  3. I get shipments fast, because they are in California, and so am I
  4. Bags always look better in person, which I didn't think was possible!
I originally bought April Shopper Tote which is a lot bigger but was sent this by accident last Friday (I got it yesterday, went out Tuesday!) After looking at it I decided I love the size and ShopSueyBoutique was very helpful in refunding the difference. If you're not familiar with designer bags it's inspired by the Celine Nano Luggage Tote. I love the design of all the Celine Luggage bags, but can't afford the price. So when ShopSueyBoutique got these in I was excited.

The April Cross Body Bag is a small bag but it's a great bag none the less, that can be carried 4 different ways
  1. By hand
  2. Crook of the arm
  3. Over the shoulder (with the strap
  4. Cross body
This bag is great for traveling and shopping and fits quite a bit for it to be so small. The dimensions 8x8x4 but don't let those numbers deceive you, this is a good size. Here are pics of it and what can fit

With all of this theres still some room on the sides, for my phone and a couple of other things! The bag is made very well, the hardware on all of ShopSueyBoutique bags are superb and as long as I've been buying from them, I've never had a bag come apart on me (some bags I've had for 6 years!)

I do want the April Shopper Tote eventually (the bigger version) but I really do love this little bag.

*I paid for this bag myself. I am not sponsored by ShopSueyBoutique all opinions are my own

Operation Weight Loss Week 4

Week 4 was probably one of my best weeks yet! I worked hard, and it paid off. I had to have a little pep talk from my husband because I had higher expectations. He told me "one pound a week is great!" so that stuck with me. This week was different because I worked out 5 days a week, and I've dropped the kettle bell...for now. As much as I love it it wasn't giving me the workout I wanted. So I've been doing the workout I mentioned in week 3. and I love it! it kicks my entire ass, but the results are worth it. So how has my food intake and cravings been?

Food Intake
  • I have been on a eggs and polish sausage kick. I don't know what it is, but I'm craving the hell out of this stuff. I eat it for lunch and dinner. Plus they're so filling, so I'm not hungry afterward.
  • Ive been putting spinach in my smoothies. I used to think you could taste the veggies in smoothies, but little did I know that fruit overpowers the tastes, so I get the nutrients without the taste. Win win!
Cravings
  • No sugar cravings this week. I did however crave some french toast BADLY yesterday, now not so much. Maybe for a cheat day?
Overall this week was a good one. Click more to see pictures and what I lost

New Blender

My blender that I had for about 4 years went out on me 2 weeks ago. Well since I drink smoothies almost everyday, I had been using my food processor, and that thing is a pain in the ass to clean! So I decided to get a new blender, but this time I wanted something more convenient. Ive seen some that you can blend stuff up in, and use the same cup, thats what I wanted. Since I'm the only one who drinks smoothies, I didn't need anything bigger. So at walmart the other day I came across a GE one

(pictures courtesy of google)

This is what GE says about their blender

Make a single serving of your favorite blended drink with the GE 17-Piece Single Serve Rocket Blender. This powerful little blender comes with both a tall cup and a small cup to let you easily blend your own delicious smoothies and milkshakes. Its sharp, cross blades help for quick chopping or mixing, while the powerful flat blade helps to blend the contents to a smooth consistency. This single-serve blender has three non-skid, non-marking feet to keep it firmly in place and prevent scratches on your countertop. The cups, lids and blades of this GE rocket blender are dishwasher safe for easy maintenance.
GE 17-Piece Single Serve Rocket Blender:

  • Power base

  • Tall cup

  • Small cup

  • Cross blade for chopping or mixing

  • Flat blade for grinding

  • 4 drinking cups

  • 4 comfort lip rings

  • 2 shaker lids

  • 2 resealable lids

  • 3 non-skid, non-marking feet

  • 3-prong plug

  • Cups, lids and blades are dishwasher safe

  • 240W

  • I love all the stuff it comes with, even a smaller cup for when I dont want to drink an entire cup of a smoothie. The only problem I have is that it doesnt make a full cup because there is a max line. So I have to blend the first batch then add a little more. Other then that, it saves me time and water from washing dishes

    Operation Weight Loss Week 3

Week 3 was similar to week 1. I had no sugar cravings, still eating the same, but incorporated salads into my diet. I usually had a smoothie for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and dinner (if I didn't cook anything) I'm still taking the Oxy Elite Pro pills, but they have been spaced out more which is a good thing. Because it means I stay full longer.

As far as snack food I picked up some Nature Valley bars. They're only 90 calories a bar and theres 2 bars in the pack. The first bar fills me up just enough so I can be good until dinner time. Another thing I picked up was Minute Maid drinks that only have 15 calories per serving (8 oz is a serving) so I've been doing pretty well at my calorie intake and will continue to do so. Re-Evalutating Life and People In My Life

Now that I am on this path to working out getting healthy, staying healthy. I have to get rid of the un-healthy stuff in my life, even if that means the stuff is people. Im pretty sure you all have done it, gotten rid of people who bring nothing to your life. No positivity, always judging, just basically bringing you down, and stressing you out. Well I'm basically tired of the bull shit, and need to cut it.

I would rather be alone, then have people around me who don't love me, for me. It's not healthy and while Im working on a healthy body, I need a healthy mind. So gone is the stress. I don't like being stressed, it gives me a headache, seriously. It makes my heart race, if it gets to be too much I get emotional, and will go on a crying spree. See how this isn't good?

I'm not a person that judges you. If I like you as a person, then I like you, until you piss me off,  it's simple. I don't care what your political, religious, self righteous, views are. As long as I'm respected, I will respect you. But there are people who don't feel that way towards me, therefore I don't need them.

I don't WANT to do this, but I NEED to do this, for me, for my kids, for my sanity.

    Operation Weight Loss Week 2

Week 2 was completely different from week 1, and it's because I had cravings for sugar. I swear I was like a drug addict that needed their fix! But I did good, I didn't give in, I didn't have sweets, so proud of myself!

As far as food intake, I've still been doing portion control and taking the OEP's. Week 1 I was taking 2 pills a day. This week for 2 days I only took 1 pill a day and still did good with my food intake, so I'm happy about that.

For breakfast, I've been having a smoothie and that fills me up for a good part of the day. I've been trying to keep myself busy also so food isn't on my mind and it's working for the most part.

Other then that nothing has really changed. Read more to see pictures from last week, and this week.

    Pico De Gallo Recipe

I don't know about you but one of my favorite things to snack on is chips and salsa. Im talking about home made salsa, not that store junk that has sugar (seriously who puts sugar in salsa?) I learned how to make my own a few years ago and didn't really perfect it (to my liking) until maybe a year and a half ago. I like home made salsa, because it's healthier, tastes better, and you know whats in it (the best part) My recipe is pretty easy and anyone can make it. Here is what you need

    •  4 Roma tomatos (this will make a nice size batch)
    • 2 jalapeno peppers (I only used one, but if you like your stuff spicy add 2)
    • 1/2 a lemon (use a fresh lemon instead of that plastic bottle stuff
    • 1/2 Onion (I used red, you can use white if you wish)
    • Cilantro (I add a little then more if need be)
    Optional
    • Seasoning salt
    • Garlic powder
    • Black pepper
These items just give it a extra kick!

Now these next steps is what works for ME you can cut up your veggies how YOU like, mix how YOU like. After all the best thing about making food is experimenting. I use a food processor to chop up all my veggies. it saves me time. If you don't have one (even though I highly recommend getting one) just chop up veggies finely
    1. Cut up the roma tomatoes into halves and stick into food processor, chop up, put into container.
    2. Cut stems off jalapeño peppers (take out seeds if you don't want real spicy salsa) put in food processor
    3. Put onion into food processor with peppers, chop up
    4. Put cilantro in food processor, chop up
    5. Now that everything is in the container add 1/2 lemon juice
    6. Add seasoning (optional)
    7. Stir and enjoy!
Thats it! Pretty simple huh? Sure you can add even more veggies if you like i.e corn see what works for you!

    Happy Birthday Haley

My oldest daughter Haley is 10 today, TEN!!!! Where has the time gone?? This little lady was born 2 weeks early at 11:45 am. Weighed 6lbs even, was 19 inches long, all legs, and she still is!

She's always been shy, until she warms up to you. She's stubborn (like her mama) loves to laugh, loves to read, loves the color pink, but best of all she's a mamas girl. She always gives me hugs, and is very protective of me and her sister.

I dont exactly know where the past ten years went. But in that time this beautiful girl has managed to teach herself to swim, do flips, become almost taller then me, master a computer better then most adults, hate almost every food, except mac and cheese, hot dogs, eggs, and top ramen. As difficult as times may be, I wouldn't change one thing.

She's a mini version of me and my husband, we love her, and wish her a very Happy Birthday. We love you Haley!!

    Operation Weight Loss Week 1

Week 1 of Operation Weight Loss is over and Im going to tell you about my week, show you pictures and tell you how much weight I've lost so far. My first week was pretty good. I started my kettle bell workout you can see the video here. It's a good workout for me, since Im basically starting from scratch as far as working out goes.

    My first day working out
    • It was hard I only did about 5 minutes of the workout, and felt like I was going to pass out, so I stopped. the next day my body was SORE! but it was supposed to be sore.
    My second day working out
    • I finished the entire 10 minute workout! I wanted to do more, but simply couldn't. The next day I was sore not as much as before though
    My third day working out
    • I finished the workout but couldn't do more. I want to try and do more tomorrow. Today I'm not sore but when I press down on my legs I can feel that the muscles are tighter.
As far as eating and drinking.
    • I've been drinking smoothies every morning. Strawberries, banana and low fat vanilla yogurt. This usually fills me up for a while then I may have something small to eat and then eat dinner. If I do have breakfast its something light, mostly its 45 calorie wheat bread used to make a egg in a basket. This is very filling.
    • For drinking Ive been drinking flavored water and sparkling limeade/lemonade. These only have 5 calories per can, gives me my soda fix. I also have the little packs of juice you mix with water that have no sugar or calories. They taste like kool aid, also gives me the sugar fix without the sugar
    • For snacking. ive eaten some sugar free jello and low calorie vanilla ice cream. The jello has 3 or 4 calories per serving and the ice cream has 90 per half a cup. Ive only eaten the ice cream once this week because of the calorie intake
I havent really craved the junk food, which is surprising seeing as how much I craved it before. But who knows what next week will bring. Now onto the picture. The left is before the right is after. Just one week. After the pictures I will say how much I've lost

    Farmers Market

Today was my very first time going to the farmers market. I've always heard that its cheaper then the grocery store for veggies and fruits so I decided to see how big of a price difference it was. But first let me tell you about my experience.

Our farmers market is in a parking lot. It used to be downtown but they moved it, for reasons I don't know of. Theres not a lot of booths but enough space for groups of people to walk down the isle and see what they want. There all kinds of fruits and veggies just looked like a rainbow of healthy foods.

What I didn't like was that there weren't any scales for you to weigh your food so you could know how much you were going to spend. You know how at the grocery store you can weigh your food, and add more, or take some of the food out? Yeah I wish the farmers market had these so you could know before paying.

I also didn't see a huge price difference in the food. I took $10 and got some Organic Gala Apples, 4 Corn on the Cobs, 2 Broccoli Trees, and 2 vines of purple and green grapes. Now I know the corn is the same as the grocery stores but when I look at what I have I dont see a reason to go out of my way to go here every weekend as opposed to my local grocery store. The one thing that threw me off was the price of strawberries, it was more then my grocery store!

Overall it was an experience, and Im glad I experienced it. But I doubt I will be going back.

Random Vlog: Workout and Birthday Gifts

    My First Glossybox: First Impression

Today I received my very first Glossybox, and decided to do a first impression video, and take pictures. If you don't know what Glossybox is, it's a monthly subscription service to makeup and beauty items. Its $21 + tax. A little pricey, but worth it in my opinion especially if you like the products. I wanted to try a monthly service to try different brands out there, especially brands I may not have even heard of. So this is a great way without breaking the bank.

    Random Vlog: Sunday Thrifting

I love going to the goodwill! It feels nice to find shirts that retail for $20+ for only $2 and less! If you didn't know 95% of my clothing is thrifted. I'm not a person who needs to have the latest and greatest piece of clothing. Id rather take $100 and buy an entire wardrobe, then take $1000+ for the same effect. Heres some tips I have if you want to thrift.

    • Have a game plan before you go, and only get what you plan on getting
    • See something you might like? PICK IT UP! Because someone else might get it, you can always put it back if you don't want it later.
    • Give yourself a good hour to just browse and go through everything. Trust me I've found most of my items hidden between clothing.
    • Try on clothes in the isle. Hell sometimes the dressing room is full, and you don't have all day. So if you love that shirt try it on in the isle.
    • Wear snug clothing, this is to do the above.
    • Have cash! never know if the atm machine may be down, with cash you cant go wrong
    Heres my haul

A Forever 21, BCBG, and Hollister shirt. Plus a AUTHENTIC Tory Burch tote all for $7.46!!! I couldn't find one of these items in their home stores for this cheap. I'll definitely be going again within the next few weeks.
